TrainsporT was founded in April 2003 by Heinz Kirschfink and Arthur Spoden, in order to offer a railway transport service on the Belgian and European liberalized markets.
After having obtained the European licence in December of the same year, the long and difficult process to get the security certificate began, which was even more complicated by the fact that the European directives are transposed in a different way in each Member State of the European Union. Thus, Belgian legislation, which is incomplete and very protectionist accounted for a further obstacle to the process.
In the meantime, TrainsporT began nevertheless to develop its activities endlessly, by training and hiring skilled staff, buying high quality locomotives and organizing future (railway) traffic.
Since February 2006, TrainsporT cooperate closely with Ruhrtalbahn GmbH. This cooperation was formalised by the acquisition of TrainsportT shares by Ruhrtalbahn GmbH.
In December 2006, TrainsporT was given by the Ministry of Mobility and Transport its security certificate, and barely a few months later, a contract was signed with Infrabel, the Belgian railway network manager.
